Im the proud owner of Mk7 Gti since Aug 2013, but recently started having a glitch with the driving mode selection.
If I want to change from say Eco driving to Normal or Sport, the new selection "does not take", i.e. I select it, but it remains in the previous driving mode...
Contacted the garage, about 3 weeks ago, and they recommended that driving mode selection is not changed when on the move. So tried this and still not working properly. For reference I would only change the mode say once a week, when I feel like a blast. For reference the car is treated like a baby and still has only 8K Km.
Anyone else get this issue?

The driving mode definitely does change while you're on the move, it's pretty much instant.
Another case of the garage making something up to get the customer to go away!
-
Yep, I concur - definitely changes when on the move - when else would you change it?
If it didn't for some reason, then surely it should tell you to stop before trying to change it...
Dealer bull again...
-
take it in to a dealer with more than half a brain, probably a dub for dub  sounds like a software glitch but may be something wrong with the hardware leading to the software not changing, can you change the individual settings?
-
Cant change the individual setting within each drive mode either...
Previous times it happened I have to "reboot" the car, which cured it once, left it overnight and got it sorted the second time.
-
Sounds like software - has the dealer updated your firmware at all to see if that helps?

I have a similar issue, only until recently the cars mode selector would show up on the screen the moment I press the button, now the button is lite up but does not show on the screen for sometime. Also the auto closure does not work at times, I cant help but think that its something to do with the battery/alternator, the car has some many electronicallty run funtions that may if the voltage is below a certain amount it just does not kick in...time to get it checked out
-
my 'media' unit has always been super slow and always has some problem with it like not showing the ipod or radio station. tbh i think they just dont have enough ram to perform all the tasks that is asked of it imo
-
Mine has been superfast, very impressive, I have usb3 32gb USB AND IT USED TO READ IN ABOUT 5 SEC FLat (oops capitals) but I do think it has something to do with the voltage as after ive drivenit for a mile or so and tun it off and on, its sort of fast again.
So it has slowed down, unless it colects data or something, but a visit to dealers is a must I think , also the auto closure does not seem to work at times

maybe a developing fault in the energy recovery system?
-
I can concur, if a bit late on this thread, my Driving mode selector also changes on the move. Why do dealers always known much less than the customer. I found when I was buying my car last year, thanks to this forum I was telling the dealer all about the spec build and delivery dates and possible delays.

Seems not just some GTD owners that have driver profile issues then! Wondering if its all related to the same glitch whatever it is?

Unless there's an error or a light on though, garages will do diddly squat!

Mine changes too but it does say in the manual it doesn't while moving. It clearly does so something's not right.
