Title: New car buy

Hi
I currently drive a VW Passat Syncro V6, 4Wd, Tiptronic, 1997, that I have had for 8 years.
It now has 142,000 miles, and is still going strong.

But, I want to change it, and I have found a really nice, 2008, 1.4 TSI GT, fully loaded, with DSG.
I have to have an auto, for my wifie.
Are they a good reliable combo; the 170hp 1.4, and the DSG?; or should I go for the more conventional GTI 2L?

Any input appreciated.

The 1.4 TSI seems to have a lot of issues also just for info a DSG is not classed as an auto as such.
