My front big bumper is f88kd. Does anyone know if the Klokkerholm ones are any good, or is it a case of being on the look-out for a good 2nd hand original?

The VW Heritage are about as good as they come now that original ones are NLA.
A second hand one will be cheaper, but how many will you have to go and look at before you find a nice one?

I got a vw heritage one and it's pretty good for fit but the irons are really thin steel, they're not going to stand up to well to an accident.

I would not worry about that, they rust through pretty quickly

Take irons out paint some Por15 coat them in some stone ship paint or tough paint they wont rust after that!
I've still got my aftermarket bumper and its good quality! I'm fixing up my original one which has the holes already for fogs as the aftermarket ones will need cutting to fit fogs!
Oh I agree the irons mounts are lighter on the aftermarket ones but both will rust without proper treatment as VW or after market just paint over the mid steel sections with one coat!
Not sure if the aftermarket ones come with the coach squared bolts that are needed to attach the bumper?

Agreed por15 and sister products are awesome at stopping rust.
