I have read about, and experienced water ingress when opening the door of a wet car, however i drove home tonight in heavy rain for what was about 1 hour on the motorway and had a several drips of rain land on my right arm, and yes the window and door were fully shut.
Not a big problem but wondering if anyone else on here has had this happen? or have i just got a dodgy door seal?
The car is great and impressed with the lack of understeer in this weather

Well put it this way, it's not normal and should not be happening on a £10k car never mind a £30 grand one. Sounds like dodgy door seals to me. A visit to the dealership I would suggest

I have had this but believe its a design issue so the dealer ripping out the seal and putting a new one in is probably going to make it worse. Basically, you have felt in the door contacting rubber, now this might make a nice 'golf' door shutting feel but doesn't sound right in terms of water prevention, so i just dried down the felt and its been fine since, next time you open the door have a look is the felt soaked as it cant dry out either by the looks of things

Hello. I have a similar problem on my car - I made a thread about it a while ago - http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=265944.10
Picture on the second page show that the trim round the door has some weird marks/stains which don't keep out the water. I spoke to the dealer who said they would swap the trim out next time I take the car in. Im just waiting for a time I can get it into the garage.

my only question is what exactly are they planning on swapping it with??
