Title: mk2 steering column

howdy...

my girlfriends 1990 mk2 has an odd problem with it's steering column. the whole column is twisted about 15 degrees clockwise, so the stalk switches, ignition barrel etc etc all hang at weird angles. any ideas why this is and how to put it right??

Sounds like someone attempted to nick it by tryng to break the steering lock  :undecided:

have a look at this link about 3/4 down the page is a procedure to take the top half of the column out. its possible for the uj at the bottom to have come loose. the weld on the uj snapped on my car last year and i couldnt turn anywhere
