As per tittle really, refurbished my bbs and put them back together the other day.
However a few bolts will not tighten. They have a resistance as you do them up as per usual, but just as they are all the way in and you'd expect it to tighten they just spin round and round
Any ideas as to why and what I can do about it ?
On vw vortex I think it was they just said to use some liquid metal and put them in that way, I tried that with some stuff that supposedly takes over 100 nm, but left it 24 and there still just spinning round
Any ideas appreciated

Re drill and helicoil.
Thom

You have ripped the threads out out the alloy
-
Previous owner must of :( i bought them already split
Is the helicoil kit going to cause any cosmetic damage do you think ? They have literally just been re painted dont really want to have to do it again if possible
Just gotta hope I don't cause any more damage splitting the bloody things again

Longer bbs rs (or matching 3 piece bolt) with a nut if there is room?
Threads ok on the bolts?

Maybe that's why he sold them split?

Im presuming that these bolt in the alloy and will not be able to drill through and nut and bolt them.

Owner might of sold them for that reason but I doubt it, it's not a big deal when they are split and unpainted. If I had of know I would of just sorted it, just annoyed I didn't know till after they were painted and the other bolts are all loctited in
They are rx2, so longer bolts isn't an option as you can only fit the standard bolt lengths in the threads
Looks like a gotta split them again :/

How many bolts? And how many in a wheel?
-
Heli coil or weld and re cut the threads
-
See if you have a machine shop nearby and get them to see if the threads can be cleaned and re-tapped.

There are 3 bolts in 1 wheel and 2 in another
Been told about two workshops today baht might be able to help sp am gonna get onto them today. Most likely still going to need to respray them though which is a pain
