Title: Cleaning wheels
Post by: Ant1981 on 07 July 2014, 14:04
I've cleaned my car about 3 times in 8 years. The wheels have dirt caked on. I want a good cleaner that actually works as this (and the video) says it does.

Is there anyone here who uses this who can vouch for it?

Thanks.

Yes, I use it regularly.  It's very good.  But as it's been a long while since your wheels had any tlc, you'll need to decontaminate them first with an iron remover, Tardis or similar.   Make sure you use ph neutral stuff and avoid corrosive wheel cleaners which will ruin them.

When you've got all the crap off remember to protect and seal the wheels with a decent wax such as Pporboys Wheel Sealant.

Bilberry is a very good and safe wheel cleaner.

Look into Iron Cleanse from Orchard Auto Care. Unreal fallout remover.

Iron X
Iron Out - Auto Finesse
Fallout remover - OCD Finish

All great products and do the same job, choose a price point where you are happy and go for it.

As Booth says, do plenty of prep, wash and seal but 3 times in 8 year WTF, lol!
