Title: Sidelight LED replacement bulb on 2009 model with Xenons
Post by: GTI2014 on 03 July 2014, 00:03
Hi All,

I'm looking to replace the standard yellow sidelight bulb with a whiter LED bulb - this is on a 2009 model with OEM Bi-Xenons - can anyone recommend a bulb which they have used which doesn't give a dash warning error please?

This is for a 2009 model which uses the Xenon as a DRL and the sidelight that I want to replace is the little "eyebrow" shaped light  :smug: - I have looked through the forum but some of these original recommendations may be outdated for my model, and some links no longer work....

Thanks

Take the bulb out and see what sort it is. I would guess that it is a 501 type. Then by a CAN-Bus friendly set of LED replacements.

Thanks,

The existing bulb is a standard 501 bulb however I would like to replace with a LED version to match the Xenons.  I have seen quite a few LEDs but has anyone installed a particular bulb which doesn't result in a dash warning (I know that you can get a canbus canceller but wondered if anyone knows whether this is needed)
