My wife gave a lift to her daughter and her partner today. When I was putting the car into the garage later I noticed the auto handbrake and the auto hold were
not working as my drive is on a slope and the car started rolling backwards
.
My wife said she had done nothing then remembered daughters partner had been fiddling on with various buttons. What sort of idiot starts messing around with the controls in some one else's car.
If my wife had to have stopped on a hill expecting the car to hold there could have been serious consequences!
So everybody keep an eye on your front passenger in case they have ideas like this idiot pressing a few buttons to see what they do.
Needless to say I will be having a word with him.

Whilst it is a stupid thing to do to fiddle with buttons, i always check for the green p on the dash and taught my fiance to do the same! Foolproof!

Yes my wife now knows what the buttons are for and to check for the green light on the display!
You all know what some women(and guys) are like for not reading the handbook.
Also just to add insult to injury the wife's daughter has stunk my car out with her very strong perfume and despite leaving the windows overnight in my garage the sickly sweet smell remains.
Anyone any ideas on how to get rid, I think she must have had a bath in the stuff.

Tell the pair of them to take a taxi next time. The perfume will go eventually, might take a week or so - it's just a pity that "new car" chemical smell is not so strong these days to drown it out.

The auto hold doesn't work if you don't have your seatbelt on. Don't know if that was the cause of the problem.

Yeah, but it's funny to slyly turn on someone else's heated seat in the middle of summer...

In younger days - when your a passenger and your driver gets out to go shop etc and turns engine off...move the seat, put wind screen wipers on full, put the back wiper on, and an indicator...and has been done to me put in gear aswell LOL :smiley:

Wow how extremely not funny. If anyone did that in my car they'd be going to hospital!! If it's not your car then leave it the f*** alone!!
