It is nice but well overpriced.
-
I picked up a mint 16v 3 door, 60k miles, FSH, no rust, 6 month t and t for £800. I'd say that was overpriced somewhat
-
You were lucky for £800. I think the price of Mk3s has turned. Most have rust and will be being scrapped off now.
-
Most people say 'no rust' but have not removed all the arches and sills to see if there really is no rust lol
-
I have removed most of the car, no rust on the arches or the foot wells anywhere, nor slam panel or wings or doors or boot. It's immaculate
Although I do agree I got a good price, would of thought it's worth more like £1300
-
Bought mine for £1600. I would be willing to pay that for the car (if the steering wheel was on the other side  ) However i would be very picky regarding the state of the car (as rust etc).
But sure i would pay

Never give up on the MK3 is my thought. If i were to change i would go backwards to a mk2 or mk1.
Mk3 is an iconic car,not just the gti,all models.
Keep them away from the breakers !.

Looks just like my last 16v albeit with less mileage. Thats nearly 3 times what I was asking for mine and it still didn't sell hence I stripped it. The owner of this is seriously dreaming!
-
I agree
-
I wouldn't want it at any price being a 5 door.
I agree that mk3 prices have turned a little, good ones are starting to get thin on the ground.
-
If it's rust free then it's probably worth close to 2k to the right person. No harm in pricing high with plenty room to come down.
