is the loom from the clocks to the fuse box the same on 16v and VR6?
cheers
-
No
-
Actually I think they are mate. I put vr6 clocks in my gti.
-
And everything works as it should ? Handbrake light etc?
-
Yes mate
-
What are you doing?
-
The rev counter on vr6 clocks is is geared differently to 16v iirc.
-
It's an r32 conversion , plugged two sets of clocks in and both result in the warming lights acting strangely . E.g turn the headlights on the handbrake light flickers, just wondered if the loom was slightly different

They are different in year. You cant put early gti clocks in a late gti.
I had this problem with anni clocks in mine. Both 8v gti put mine was a 97.
Do you know what year the clocks are from? And what year is your car?
Obd1 and obd2 I guess.

It's a p plate was a 16v so 96/97

What year are the clocks. You definitely want to get 97 clocks if you can.
-
How can I tell what year the clocks are?
-
Asking the person you got them from?
They are different visually
I may have pics of mine. Ill have a look.
