Was happily driving to work this morning and all of a sudden had a warning on the dash saying STOP check coolant. So I pulled over checked the coolant to find it's full of like watery brown sludge?
The felt like it was running fine... Checked oil cap and seems to look normal?
HELPPPPPP
-
Sounds like head gasket.....
Give the water system a flush and refill (not forgetting g30 I think) and check again...
Also check oil levels make sure it isn't going down
-
straight to the garage for u my friend for a large repair bill, or cut ur losses and break it for parts
-
I would do as Rio suggested before looking to break it
-
-
-
I would not panic just yet it could be the oil cooler failed
-
yep, its now a process of elimination, get the coolent fully flushed, check oil and go from there.
-
If you can, get a compression test done.
-
think my first option was abit severe, get a combustion leak tester that would tell if ur head gasket is gone first then as every1 else has suggested
-
What Wayne said oil cooler
-
Replaced the oil cooler for new one.. Flushed all the coolant and filled it back up... There are still small signs of oil but there is bound to be some left in the system?
The dipstick has no signs of water/cream what so ever and the cars runs perfectly fine?! Still boosts fine, temp needle stays at 90 ? Just have to keep flushing and see if it gets clean...
And HAHA breaking for parts is a bit drastic lol

Did you keep getting oil in the coolant for a while after??

I would remove the bottom hose off the rad and run a hose in the coolant bottle for a bit.

I'll have to try that! I used some coolant flush stuff but I'm still getting some rise to the tank
-
When mine went I was still getting small bits of oil rise to the top of the bottle and still do a tiny bit.As said maybe flush it through some more then go back to enjoying ya gti

I'll stick to keep flushing it out see if I can get rid of it all!! Like I said it drives fine just always on my mind that it's gonna go tits up lol
