Looking at a Pearlescent White Golf R in deepest Devon would people recommend or avoid such products to help reduce stonechips? Fully aware that in time this can start to yellow especially on white but £300-£500 seems a worthy option? Any advice and comments appreciated.

I have Oryx White and I live in even deeper and dark cornwall. The Pearlescent White 'Oryx White' from I can gather is Pure White with a Pearlescent lacquer on top. or at least this is what you get when you buy the spray paint for Oryx White.
I have found Oryx White can be touched up on stone chips fairly easily with good results if you use Chipex or a similar touch up paint solution. The thing that marked Chipex out from normal touch up paint for me is the fact you have a blending solution which removes all excess paint blobs on top of the surface after you touch up a chip. This means the touch up is miniscule and the paint is only in the chipped area level with the surface of the paint. The only time you can see if a chip is touched up with Chipex is in very specific lighting conditions and viewing angles. About 90% of the time you do not see it, and when you do, you have look really hard for it.
I would advise getting a touch up paint solution or use smart repair rather than the shield system you are are looking at. Enjoy the new car.
I would get Oryx White again without hesitation
Hope this helps.

Topman Brenbo! Hope to bump into you at some time then but not literally! How far down are you my work brings me down through Cornwall and I am based at Holsworthy.

I am situated around the Launceston area, surf in Bude. Great times living in the south west. I currently own a GTI Performance which at present is the perfect car for me. Was thinking about a Golf R, always think I will be tempted. Maybe one day I will take a punt and go for it. Maybe we will cross paths one day. Getting bored only seeing GTD's other than my GTI in the local area

Roads are definitely a lot worse up here than Launceston
Won't get mine until September though
I'll keep an eye out for you as you aren't much more than 10 miles away!
