Hi I'm trying to figure out where my oil leak is coming from. I think it is the driveshaft seal. It is dropping only a few oil drops per day, can anyone tell from the picture? Is this bad or relatively minor?

I'm wondering if my wide wheels might be causing this. They are 8 inches wide, not sure if this is causing excessive wear on the driveshaft at all?
Cheers
Matt

Give it a really good clean as high as you can and then look for leaks a time after that. You could find the source much higher than what you expected.

Smell it to establish it is gear oil. It's quite bad in comparison to engine oil.

As said..really good clean.
Then place some newspaper, card, under that car. That will indicate where above it's coming from.

I have tweaked the nut where the speedo cable joins the gearbox, I think this may be the origin. (I hope)
