Was looking at exhausts system (cat back) for my mk3 8v gti and stumbled upon DIRECT 4x4 ( losers) the had a cat back system in s/s on offer for £150 I know well cheap but it was there on the web so I rang them up and asked "have you got a mk3 golf exhaust system for sale " her answer was " oh yes we do" so I gave her the the code and she said " it's a mk3 gti 8v s/s cat back yes we have it in stock" so I orderd it on line not ten minutes later , pay pal online all went through got my email to say its on its way for direct 4x4 . My bank sowed it had gone , so I removed my blowing old exhaust had to use a angle grinder as it was rusted solid . So car ready money payed email received ........... 6 days go by no exhaust no car to drive so we ring them thay say to us " sorry we don't have that exhaust in stock and we are not getting any more we will refund you your money :( " thanks a lot for telling me .. would thay have rang to tell me that it wasn't coming no I don't think thay would TW*s so now I have a lovely gti but no exhaust and still wating for the money to go back in my bank thanks a lot DIRECT 4x4 ... Help cheapest I've found is 350 +

Moral of that story? Don't remove parts from your car until you have the replacement in your hand :whistle:

As Dom said it would have been better to have waited for it to arrive then remove the old system.
