Title: 1st gear rattle?

My TDI gearbox has just developed a nasty erratic rattling when pulling away in 1st gear and dissappears when changed up to 2nd etc. Car still pulls and drives well and clutch feels unchanged...is this a worn 1st gear synchromesh?

Yes normally, have you tried adjusting the linkages to see if it makes it any better?

Doesn't matter now as I sold the car a few weeks ago.  :smiley:
