Title: rear vw badge

where can i get a new one?

That one won't fit. They are impossible to find new. I looked for ages and then gave up. They are a different size to the earlier ones. You best bet is to either hit lucky with one on ebay, or find someone breaking the correct age car. Either way they will cost more than you think, because a lot of people are after them. Supply and demand and all that haha

For your year, you need a black badge with the soft rubber backing that fits into the recess in the center of your rear panel.
They do turn up on ebay every now and then, and a 2nd hand should be OK as long as rubber is intact and the badge still has its fixing legs.

the badge should be a chrome one with cylindrical pegs (not the flat bladed ones as they were used in '88 and are ever so slightly different and rare). The later more common ones do come up on ebay and forums regularly as ive bought a couple lately (too many projects lol)
