Hi, recently my car has developed an annoying knocking noise at the rear of the car (could be inside or out - sounds a bit like it's outside though). This seems to have developed since my rear left rubber mount for the spring broke (wore right down, so it was patchy) I have since then replaced this rubber mount, but there is still an annoying noise, it happens more often when I go over slightly bumps rather than larger bumps such as speed bumps.
Has anyone got any ideas on what it might be?
Cheers, Mo

Unless your spare wheel, tool kit etc is slopping around unsecured then this ^^^

Are there any other things it might be? Because I really cba with another big'ish job to do

There's a chance that it could be the top mounts but I doubt it. Rear axle bushes are the most likely culprit.

Is there anyone in the boot

I suppose that would explain the occasional scream in the boot too, though, the sounds have gone a bit dead lately, so who knows...

Maybe your rear brake caliper was loose (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=267949.0)... LOL.

Strangely, I haven't heard the same noise since it was temp fixed  so for all I know it could be that haha, though would that explain why it knocked on a little bump?
