Advice needed please,
obviously at night, when driving over rough bumpy roads the lights beam pattern flickers on more severe bumps and jolts!!! Best I can describe it is like a wobble of the bulb unit after a bump has impacted the car, seems more pronounced on the drivers side light beam pattern.
I contacted the dealer and they told me it was the levelling system activating and perfectly normal.
I'm not convinced, its almost as if the bulb is loose(but its not),its starting to get quite irritating now.
Anyone else noticed this before I book in with dealer to check it out.
Cheers

I've got the retrofitted AFS system to my GTD and it doesn't do this! You cant really notice anything bar the turning corners and the lights follow, but no wobble.
-
The levelling and turn of the lights is too slow to keep up on a country roads, I doubt it would be this.
-
No, no wobbling with my xenons, only notice movement at corners as said.

Thanks Guys and B11
Spoke to dealer earlier
Their Reply was Obviously no way to test this now because its Daylight Hours,my reply was "well just fit me a pair of new lights because when I first reported this it was winter and dark at 4pm ish and you fobbed me off
No change in color from when I purchased the car ,doesn't flicker on the wall in dark garage if I tap the light either, not wanting to smack it too hard tho incase I break it
Its not a levelling thing I don't rekon, because it flickers a lot faster than the level check dance the lights perform when you turn them on,so something must be loose perhaps.

agree something is wrong with your xenon bulbs... leveling is pretty smooth, unless you really hit a deep pothole VERY hard.

Had a good look around this morning, what a B***h to get too,
it is the whole projector assembly that is wobbling, booked into VW on Thursday.
in the meantime is it safe to wedge a piece of foam or something inside the casing against the ignitor (or whatever the little silver box is on the back of bulb and obviously non flammable foam )or will it still get too hot and melt the foam?
-
Thats the ballast resistor it will get hot yea can't think of anything non-flammable to put in there :-/
