Title: cooling fan!
Post by: vwjack on 29 May 2014, 22:05
is it normal to drive the car 2 miles tops and the cooling fan is on. AC is on.

depends.... AC can trigger cooling fan to run, engine could be in active regen (if it's a tractor), sure there is a number of other perfectly normal things that can cause fan to come on

It'll be doing a regen mate, if you do a lot of short journey's you'll notice it does that a lot, you need to stretch it legs now and again otherwise you might end up with DPF issues in the future.

I drive my gtd 3 miles to work and back again on a night and don't get any extra regens. It does go further afield for other non work journeys so as long as it gets a good run out you won't have any issues with dpf's unlike previous diesels.

Cheers fella's! I'd normally worry when the old jetta did it.
