my car went in today for a cambelt and water pump change but ive never had a car where ive had to get it done, once its all done would I notice any difference when driving ?? or is it one of them things where you dont notice anything ?

You wont have the valves coming through the top of the head

Had my cambelt, tensioner, water pump, auxiliary belt, spark plugs and coolant done last week. It drove exactly the same. :)

It's not a performance job per se, it's more of a maintenance job.. getting the cambelt and water pump done before the belt snaps saves you repairing the entire engine if it does go.

I picked up my car today he did cambelt waterpump and fresh coolant and a service filters oil change ect.. I paid £150 , I know most people dont rate the 2.0 but is there anything I can do to it to improve it a bit im not really into big mod tho just simple bits really

A hotter cam should liberate a bit more power? I dunno 130-140?
I think the standard one's pretty conservative.
Beyond that the 'just buy a 1.8t' argument is a strong one though. :)

£150 including parts??

I just priced up cheapest crappiest parts from Euros and it comes to £70 without coolant or oil.
Working for £70. I guess could whack it out in two or three hours but wow that's cheap.
Definitely going to have had a crappy metal water pump fitted though!
Sorry to bring ya down a bit but is a cheap job!
