Looking at a mk4 to replace my vr  and it has recently passed its MOT with advisory of the crack windscreen.
If i do get it should i wait a week or 2 then phone insurance or just replace windscreen.
How much to replace windscreen though?
Thanks

I paid an excess of £75 to get mine done with national windscreens but had to wait 3 days they had to order my screen in

As above mine was £75 through national did it the same day though. Waited about an hour.

I crapped myself because I was on the motor way when a stone cracked mine and I had over 100 miles to go in the rain haha

Cool not too bad then

just buy a new screen as it sometimes counts as a claim on your insurance

+1
my mate got his windscreen replaced and the insurance company said he would still get his ncb, however when renewing he found out the ncb was only valid if they stayed with that company...
try see if any friends know a friendly window replacer, my cousin does, im onto my 4th windscreen (place I work has loads of lorries and loads of debris on the road) and each time its only cost me around £15 more than my winscreen excess

Spoke to someone who I knows had a couple and the company he used is about £140ish
