Title: Should the R32 fuel pump prime when door opens?

Guys in my GTI when i opened the drivers door i used to hear a buzz with the fuel pump priming, should the R32 do this?

I always thought it was something in the door not the fuel pump, I thought the fuel pump primed when the electrics were turned on?
