Ok still trying to sort the non operating spots on my 82 MK1. It looks as though it has had some sort of headlight upgrade at some point and the spots are triggered via a relay that sits on the inner wing near the battery, its connected straight to the battery and to one of the main beam wires.
Presumably this boosts the power of the lights.
I have bypassed the relay and the spots work fine so I can only assume its this relay.
Does anyone else have this? the relay is made by Durite? number 0-726-12 12V 15A
Finally how can I source a replacement?????

The man to ask about this is Dizzie, he might be able to answer your question and funnily enough, he also does uprated headlight looms for mk1/mk2s. I saw them at E38 and they look very professional and he fitted them to JVs & Tophers Rallyes and they made a difference. The ones he does have their own relays on so you may not have to source a replacement. :undecided:

You could also try the like of Maplin and see if you can match a part number.
