Okay I love my mkIV currently standard under the bonnet apart form a few forge pipes but sometimes when my foot is to the floor it seems to almost feel like it's lagging.
It doesn't always do this most of the time it pulls well but every so often it has a moment of a flat spot.
I've currently got a tiny hole at the tip end of my back box (new miltek is on my list) do we reckon this is causing the problem or is it something little more serious like turbo or boost pipes or anything ?
Or am I just a complete noob ?? :D

find a local garage that can do boost leak testing and buy a cheap code reader from ebay - VW should of included one of these from new with the car

Aha well my car is a little bit older now from new ;)

I had this on mine. A throttle body clean and a set of new plugs sorted it.
To keep it tip top, it must get a good ragging now and then to blow all the crap out of the intake/turbo system.
It's not a V6 or V8, but the 1.8T does sound pretty good on the way past 6k revs.

Could be any of the following
Faulty DV
Leaking pipework
Faulty N75 valve
Weak plugs / coilpacks
Faulty MAF
Or its just a complete pile of poo
