Thats really bad luck there.
Has the radar itself been broken as I would imagine that won't be cheap.
If he is taking all responsibility I'd personally get it into a garage to sort.

A lorry delivering a skip to a neighbour damaged the front bumper on my week old Honda five years ago and drove off. That bumper cost over £400 then. I think you should get the radar checked as you might have serious problems if it's misaligned.

Bumper is fine its just the grill and the radar sensor is working.

I would have thought you can't replace grill without the bumper.

New bumper will be £300-£400.

It will likely only come in certain colours, so may have to primed and painted at a body shop; another £200.

Fitting & Labour £200-£300

Tops £900 all in. That may on the heavy side; but your cars 4 days old, I would want the best on it.

I would take to garage to double check radar hasn't been damaged. I know you said it's working, but complicated bits of kit. Let them plug it into the laptop just to double check.

Just wondering why, with a 4 day old car and the expensive repair, you're not claiming on your insurance?

Yeah, even if you get it sorted, how reliable is it going to be in the event of an emergency?

This could be a big problem

If ACC front sensor is damaged in a bump very few UK dealers have the equipment to replace and re-set it.
