Just had confirmation that my car will be built build week 25 (I think) starting 15/06

Cheers pal, it's an annual event now, 10% slashed each year for the last 3 years. I've always been ok (top appraisal rating so if it gets down to scoring I'll be one who is least likely to be cut) but I still don't really want to commit to a new finance deal until I know. Been looking at an E39 530i as a redundancy cash buy as an alternative :grin:

Start of July maybe? Not sure how long it takes from build to delivery. I was planning to wait until September 1st. But if it's ready 2 months in advance I doubt I'll bother tbh.

I was thinking the same thing about waiting until september but jeez its been hard enough waiting this long already :whistle: . Ordered my car in March.
As I intend to keep my car for 5 years I decided to work out how much money I would lose by having it on a 14 plate instead of a 64 so using both CAP and Parkers I compared the private sale value of a five year old GTD on 09 and 59 plates. The difference is only about £300 so not worth worrying about. Also I think if I wait until September to sell my current E46 BMW I might lose that £300 anyway :rolleyes:

Hello all, recently had my build week confirmation for my gtd. I ordered it on 11/4 so very happy with bw25. Wishing my life away now until the happy day comes when i sit in it for the first time. I haven't even had a test drive so it should be like driving a Bentley compared to the fiesta econetic I have at the moment.

Hello, Grey GTD confirmed BW25. VW Newbury have advised I should be looking to take delivery around 18th July!
Been on order since 29/3 so I'm itching to get it now!

Well after thinking all along I was in build week 24 (company car, so lease company informed me of this!) I finally get an order number to track the order out of them, and it states it is being built this week, so I must have slipped back into week 25 :cry:
He ordered it on 11th April and stated a 3 month lead time, so if it is in that build week looks like I will receive it around mid July so a 13 week lead time, not bad at all.
My spec is:
Golf GTD Carbon Grey
5 door
Nav upgrade (not pro)
Keyless
Rear camera
Winter pack
Only 4 weeks to go...... I hope! :rolleyes:

Very similar to mine! I don't usually wish my life away but I'm hoping the next month fly's past.
I've been told July 18th so seems the time from BW to delivery tally up

Now in transit, never even went to stage 4. Says it usually takes 4 weeks to be delivered to the dealers, but a few of you seem to have had a shorter wait. Here's hoping!

Just checked mine, and it also says in transit.... let hope we get them in the next 2-3 weeks, beat the 4 week expectation!!!!!

Me too. My current lease car goes back on 11th august so it looks like that will be the date I get my golf. Probably later than most of you guys but I can live with it I think. Feels like being a kid waiting for Christmas Day.

The tracker says build in progress yet I got a text today saying build scheduled. It's a good job I can't take delivery until August. Hopefully it will be ready mad waiting for me in 6 weeks time, which seems like ages away.

I was meant to be week 24 all along, and slipped into week 25. Was hoping for a 5c text this morning. Nothing! Still only 2 5b texts.
I hope it gets on a ship today. The Viking Constanza is in Emden port right now. should set sail around lunch time. Fingers crossed that it is on that one! The Schelde is also there and probably ready to depart Emden

I wouldn't believe the texts pal, I got a Stage 6 text half an hour after my third 5c text, I'm sure they do it on purpose to toy with our emotions lol

Was monitoring the updates on bw24 too and thought either there's were delayed or mine was moved forward.

"It looks like your Golf has been assigned to a boat from Emden docks in Germany across to the UK, so I should hopefully have the registration number by the end of the week. "

I also got the 5c text this morning.
Looks like our cars are on either "Schelde Highway" (docking at roughly 3pm today) or "Viking Constanza" (docking at roughly midday today)
I am actually heading to Hull to catch the ferry to Holland for this weeks MotoGP so will keep my eyes peeled at the port for those ships.... I will be so close to our cars, but just not close enough. :cool:
10 days and counting until it is at the dealers ...

Last night I was at Hull ferry port on way to Holland to watch MotoGP and saw the Schelde highway ship. Also saw a lot of cars. Closest I will have been to my car!! Took a photo as proof!

Looks like we're all getting close to getting our cars now! By the time it's been delivered to dealer, PDI'd etc hopefully we can collect around 7th July. Sound about right?

Got to 5b this morning. I think I am now week 26 myself but still happy as things look to on course for my beginning of August target. Plus I have now booked 2 weeks off work mid august to spend as much time as poss in my new motor. Hope The cars mine by then or I will have to do jobs round the house.

Stage 6 update received. Mine is being delivered to Chesterfield from Grimsby, so not a long trip. Hopefully it won't sit at the dock for several days before it gets loaded on a transporter.

It is from Preston
Just had all the paper work come through so that it can be delivered to me on the 9th. Also had the numberplate on it. Good to see it has a plate!!! all getting a bit real now!

Stage 7 this morn too. Waiting for the dealer to PDI and prep the car. Possibly Monday 7th . Better be worth the wait. i cant remember the test drive now its so long ago.

Stage 6 for me today. Looks like mine will be sat around until I can take delivery in early august. Can't wait to make the leap from a 95bhp fiesta to a 180bhp golf. :laugh:
