Ok, so firstly I'm confused already! Having searched the glossary of the manual regarding the Climate screen It takes me to a couple of pages that waffle on about windscreen heating, is this the same thing??
Secondly, I've switched the windscreen heating between auto/manual when the windscreen misted up slightly..... and it did sweet FA.... am I doing something wrong???
thirdly (and lastly), when i go into the air con set up and press the windscreen heating icon (looks like a screen with a heartbeat type line going through it) nothing happens at all, nothing says on or off or acknowledges that i pressed it other than the beep?
This is all cry confusing  can anyone shed some light please as the manual is pants and other topics in the forum don't seem to answer my questions :roll eyes:
cheers....

Not sure about the actual functions for it but the screen itself is heated, by a thin conductive layer in the middle of the glass, this also acts as a reflector for UV and solar heat so you shouldn't cook as much in the summer!

This is the technology. All be it on a Passat, but the exact same on the Golf.

The video makes sense, but how can I tell if it is on or not?
-
Why do you need to know?
Comes on automatically when the mist sensor detects mist on the screen.
If you switch it on manually then the icon on the touch screen should turn orange (at least according to my poor memory, been ages since I had to manually switch it on).

Hi,
Also pressing the windscreen de-mist button also switches on the climate screen. I find the best way to tell if it is on is to select convenience consumers on the instrument display or head unit. This then shows if the screen is on. I leave mine on auto and it is brilliant :)
