has anyone had a problem with wing mirrors not facing down while reversing
set it up in settings but still no joy, any comments.
-
Hi geob, have you got the knob turning to 'L'? That's required for the mirror to dip.
-
On one occasion mine refused to dip down. They did the first part of the movement swinging out, but then did nothing. Mirror switch was set to L. Turned the engine off and then back on and they worked as they should.

As ffrank says, the mirror knob needs to be in 'L' for it to work, you also need to set where you want it:
Ignition on.
Knob set to L.
Put car in reverse.
Set where you want the mirror to be when in reverse.
Take car out of reverse.
Switch off ignition and mirror should return to normal position.
Sometimes this is preset (ish) but not always.
:afro:

As others have said, make sure the door mirror switch is set to L, select reverse and the nearside mirror should dip, whilst still in reverse you can adjust the mirror to exactly how you want it and this will be stored in the memory for future.

Seem to remember, from another thread, that these types of setting are key specific. So the mirror will only move to the reverse position set if the same key is in the ignition.
-
Sweet, I didn't realise you could change the preset (my preset was pretty good).
And that's very smart if some settings are tied to the key!

Spot on, things like auto locking doors and the dipping mirror are key specific, so you can have things set how you like and your other half can have things set how they like.

thanks for that info ffrank i will give it a try.
