Hi,
Hopefully my GTD will be arriving in the next couple of weeks and hoping to locate a willing VCDSer in the Hampshire area to turn on the alarm chirp when locking.
I have a laptop with the 12.12.2 software so just need half an hour with the cable to make the tweak.
Anyone around the Andover, Winchester, Basingstoke, Salisbury, Newbury, Southampton area willing to volunteer? Beer tokens provided :)
Thanks

Sorry if I am being thick, but why do you need someone else if you have the software and cable already?

The software is free to download. I need to find someone with a cable willing to help me out.

Could you let me know if you get anywhere with this, looking to get the same done as well - I am based in Andover
Thanks

You could try SJB Autotech in Basingstoke who has just turned off the speedaktor in my GTI for £20 which is much cheaper than 1hrs labour at a main dealer

As its is effectively illegal to have the alarm chirp on do you think they would do it?

Don't know about UK but most of Europe outlawed it in the 90s. Back then most manufacturers that offered it just used car horns...... so quite a lot of noise pollution if everyone had it (imagine busy inner city area with only street parking).

But you can hardly hear it. I had it activated on my Mk6 as I liked the reassurance that the car was locked but if my Mrs was driving the car, I couldn't hear the chirp when she parked at the end of our drive and that's hardly big (3 car driveway, just)
