Anyone else had this, the shiny black fins attached to rear tail gate glass are only bonded/glued on. We've had one come adrift already 5 weeks. Can't believe they are not clipped on, very poor by VW standards.
Also yes the paint is b***** thin and does anyone else hate the steering wheel as much as me!!! Too smooth and fat at the thumb grips. I still have a Mk6 GTI while the Mk 7 is the wife's so have a direct comparison. and the Mk6 S/wheel is way better.

That's the way the auto industry has gone - you won't see any better build quality/thicker paint etc on a BMW/Audi/Merc for similarly sized cars. Modern cars are most definitely built to a price and not a spec. I prefer the MK7 steering wheel to the MK6, but I preferred the MK5 one over both (shield shaped centre).

The rear fins have been mentioned a few times recently

One of the rear fins was loose when I picked the car up from the dealer. They were very apologetic and applied fresh double sided tape. Their pompous attitude vaished as well.
-
I think the mk6 steering wheel is one of the best bits of the mk6.
-
I also agree that the steering wheel is one of the best I've used, great design and feel. :)

Bring back the perforations!!
Also update, vehicle has to go to the body shop to repair/glue the fin. Can you believe that. A day and courtesy car, 50 mile round trip. hey ho.
-
Don't bring back the perforations - they fill with dead skin over time.
-
I agree, bring back the perforations.
The MK6 wheel looks much better than the MK7 which just looks like hard plastic and not leather. IMHO.
I think it looks a bit more Golf than GTI but it's probably cheaper to make.
-
Can't say I agree on the steering wheel tbh... I think the MK7 item looks so much more modern, shaped perfectly and the soft leather is lovely to hold. I get lots of comments from passengers about how cool the wheel looks!
The previous wheel in my Passat CC was shiny, and no matter how much I tried with leather cleaner and a steam cleaner, it always looked dirty and greasy.
-
Perforated wheels were rubbish for cleaning. Mk7 wheel is much nicer and feels right for the car. Suppose it depends on size of your hands which one suits you best.
-
I'm a big fan of the steering wheel, feels nice and chunky. Although this is my first Golf so I haven't got anything to compare it to in that respect.

+1 Helps if you have big hands though!

Noticed the same on mine last month.
So went straight back to VW to get it sorted.

Another one here with the poorly fitted rear windscreen trims! Calling VW today to get it sorted.
