Please can any body help me, on 18th may I lost my one and only flip out key for my golf gti mk4. I had only had the car for a short while and always intended to get a new key cut from the old one. I have the plastic blank that just opens the door being very careful. My wife arranged for a mobile key cutter to come this afternoon to cut two new keys and program them to the immobiliser. The guy cut 2 keys no problem that will operate doors and steering lock, but he can not get them to start the car. He says these old vw's & audi's are a nightmare as they are very secure and they are always a problem to program. Can any body tell me if they have come across the same problem
Thank you for any help and advice you can give me, as my car is not going nowhere in a hurry

They are easy to program, you just need the right tools
You will need to find someone with VAG TACHO and VAG COM. You will also need the key coding to the central locking. I could do all this if you were closer lol
