Title: mk7 remap
Post by: mikeok on 19 May 2014, 17:57
May have been done but there is not much info as cars to new I guess but has any one remapped there GTI/GTD and if so what company? Dtuk seem one of the few out there and I have spoken to Revo today who say they are releasing one "very soon" but I think they have been saying that for a while now...
Any recommendations?

There's a few threads like this and they all say about the same thing. Apr and revo say soon. Once this happens, hopefully by the end of the month, the other tuners will follow once how to map it becomes common knowledge

I have the shark dtuk stg2 box on, it's a very nice bit of kit takes maybe 20mins depending how thin your arms are to fit and is good for easy 300 bhp when coupled with a large bore downpipe

Jf auto have a bolt on kit which I should be getting in the next few weeks. Good for 50 bhp and 95NM torque with a dyno before and after for £469. Doesn't effect warranty as it can easily be remove at home. Like I said I will be getting this in two weeks if nothing else big come out first.

Sounds a bit less than stock.. ;) ;)

On a serious note, how does it compare to the dtuk or is it just your preferred tuner?

I looked at the Dtuk as results are similar. (Slightly less torque gain) but chose JF because they run a MK7 GTD tuned as their show car. I think you get better coverage regarding breakdowns from DTUK. Any idea what they charge as a comparison?

£315 for the DTUK box (GTD) which includes the £80 discount code.

£359 at dtuk for the stage 2 box normally £439

We have our own skoda VRS 2.0 tdi 184ps that we've used to develop the CRDT :)

Revo are in beta testing around the world at the moment, APR and Revo were not the first to bolt on tsi tuning, lessons learned was for me not to be the first to bolt

Good read, still dying to know what the released figures will be, and I hope they launch the stage 2 figures at the same time too, assuming if they are already testing stage 3 they have stage 2 in the bag

Remaps are available via spider boot, but the Ecu has to be opened up first and TD1 will be flagged unless the Ecu is reverted back to standard.

This info came from a well respected tuner in Belgium that we supply boxes too, so be carefull what you're reading and what you're being told by remappers
