Hi all,
Sorry to post another tyre thread, did a search but couldn't come up with much. Currently my MK6 2.0 GT TDI has 4x Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 all round. The front two have worn down and require replacing. I was hoping to get the same tyres again but when phoning up a few shops they can't get any.
In your opinion what would be the closest suitable replacement for the Eagle F1's? Can't say I keep up with the new tyres, but want to make sure I get something just as good if not better. One supplier recommended Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance as an alternative but reading reviews from people who have sportier cars they aren't recommended at all.
I have the 18" alloys, so the tyres are 225/40 R18 92 Y. Ideally would like to avoid directional tyres as I had some Dunlop's on the car a few years ago which the dealer put on the incorrect way, which didn't end well!
Cheers

Evo Magazine did a test last year (maybe this year?) and Michelin Pilot Sport 3's came a very close second. I used Pilot Sport 3's on my Clio 182 and now have them on my GTD, can't fault them.

I would wait for the Eagles to come back into stock,
or i would get Vredestein ultrac sessanta, they are also mint

Eagle F1s always get great reviews and if you've been happy with them, I would stick with same tyre. Have you looked online for the Eagles? I'm sure they must be out there somewhere. Try somewhere like blackcircles.com

Cheers for the replies, will take a look at the Michelin's if I can't get the Eagle F1's. Thanks for the link Rhyso, ideal. Did try Black Circles who said they had some in stock, but after booking I got a call saying that they've no stock and haven't had for a while.
