Anyone have any info or seen these front scoops for sale anywhere
I've had a bit of a search around but cannot find anything,
I'm after fitting an oil cooler but running out of space, thought this would be an ideal spot and allow extra cooling to the brakes,
Any thoughts peeps
They look like they are from the worthesee edition gti that was on show a couple of years ago ?

My thoughts exactly, never used them since I've had the car, so pull em off for extra cooling
Failing that fit the R bumper, but I do prefer the GTI bumper

Is were I've had all my car work done and saw the gtd in when they where installing the brakes. :)
-
Sorry guys BIGGER i can't believe none of you ever use fogs wtf?
-
I like them. They look like a mix between Mk7 GTI grills and .:R cooling ducts.
-
been looking for these puppies everywhere! they look so mean, will be purchasing these!
-
Those are from SRS-TEC, a German company. Someone has them on golfmk6.com, you have to remove the fogs I think, it doesn't leave it open for air to flow in. I'd get em!
-
Ordered some of these last week, so should be here soon
Will update once fitted
-
VW obviously liked the idea so much the scoops are back with the mk7!

that wolfsburg edition looks amazing! obviously without the silly black stripes etc
-

How are they fitted, do you know? Do you need to remove the fogs? Or are they just stuck over them? If they're just over them and the foglights still remain functional i may get a pair
-
That will be a nice looking mod Neil and with the added bonus of looking OEM at the same time.
-
Not had chance to do anything with these yet.
Car is booked in next week for WMI / oil cooler and a DSG remap, so while the bumper is off I will get the grills fitted and painted
-
Looking forward to seeing the pics of these when they're on. Think they could really transform the front of the car.

I agree, think the front end will look so different. (better)

It says on the website that a modification is required to get these to fit. Would you be able to provide any more info on this??

Not sure what mod is needed to get them to fit ?
Will have a look next week and see what's what & report back

Well dropped the car in today to get the oil cooler/DSG map and WMI sorted,
So that gives me a chance to get my bumper vents sorted out, the Trackdays have taken there toll on my bumper paintwork so decided to get it painted while it is off, also gonna get it clear wrapped to protect the sh!te Vw paint,
Managed to unclip all the grills out etc, really easy job and the fog lights and holders are only held in with 2 screws, trial fitted the new grills and they just need a little fettling of the back of the fibreglass on the finger parts, so dropped the bumper and new grills off to the body shop for them to sort it out
Stone chips

Just a few dodgy pics of the vents fitted,
These do need a bit of work to the back of the vents to fit properly, but all in all pretty pleased with em,
The main reason I fitted these is that I wanted somowere to fit an oil cooler and it fits nicely behind the passenger side vent :smiley:and also works a treat,
I was seeing oil temps of around 20 degrees less on track the other day, also added WMI at the same time so this might help to keep temps down another also

Out of curiosity what sort of oil temperature were you getting before?

Max I've reached on track on a hot day is 135deg
Normally 120+ on track
Around 90-105 on the road
Max on track this Wednesday and was a hot day was 106 deg
-
They give it real presence. The whole package, badge, wheels etc look very, very good
-
Really suit ya car mate! Nice one.
-
Nice! What was involved with installing these? Did you have to remove the fog lights? Or are they just stuck on top?
-

These are a full replacement for the fog lights, which didn't bother me as it's something I never use, plus they are actually there for a purpose not just cosmetic, ie cool air feed to the oil cooler
Thanks for the positive comments
-
I like them. None of the .:R cars have ever had fog lights, so it goes to show that they are unnecessary, especially with xenons.
