Title: Anyone here had their car remapped with r-tech with a lowered car? (on RR)
Post by: MoMartin on 13 May 2014, 20:52
Hi, I've booked myself a remapping session at the end of the month, and i was told that i may not be able to put my car on the Rolling Road for the remapping session (if i want a print out), if it doesn't fit on there. Though, they did say that it can still be done (take it out on the real road). So i was wondering if anyone on here has had their car remapped with them, whilst having their car lowered by around 4 to 5 cm's on the front.

Edit - I have already asked them about it, and they don't seem to know. They just suggest that it is at the stock ride height.

Cheers, Mo

Yeah, i have coil overs, but when i wind them up it rubs against the tyre  So i think that's out of the question, and i was thinking of just taking off the front bumper, but when i asked them if that would work they said something that led me to believe that it wouldn't work.

They did say that they can still do the remap, with the exact same outcome as the rolling road,  but i just don't get a print out after they have completed it.

yeah you can still map with out rolling road, just harder to get an accurate reading, I know a few people around here who do remaps on "private air fields" ;) just using the software and do really good maps, then using logs etc can work out approximate bhp figures, but its not as accurate as with rolling road. my suggestion would be wind coilovers up as high as practical (if needed fit some 5mm spacers to give clearance) imo around 20-30mm drop will be ok on the rolling road

I'm going to have the wheels off again in a week or so to change the brakes, so if will do it all then, or at least try to.

I'm getting pretty sick of this low ride height already, I scraped the bottom of my car on a speed bump today because of it

The first remap I had from R-Tech Niki did on my driveway, obviously without a rolling road and it was frigging awsome!

Yep, in 2010  :smug:

Nick was going to Weymouth with his family for a seaside break/holiday at the time, so he remapped my car then!
