Title: Golf gtdi 150 what they like

Been offered a 4 door mk4 gtdi for my mk2 valver.

Car has full history Recaro trim, tottaly standard apart from a remap owner claims 180 bhp.

Ain't got a clue about mk4s apart from I had a bora and that felt like a boat compared to my mk2s and mk3.

Does it sound a fair deal? I'm tempted as I imagine it would be a reasonable car for missis to drive

They suffer with camshaft problems, if you do a search you will find a few threads on the subject.

As above some suffered with the issue but if it has been done or isn't effected you'll be fine. 180 is reasonable to me on a map and the MK4's are really comfy and nice cruisers. They aren't a nippy runabout in my opinion though, for example I had a slight burn up with some Alfa last night, off the line and round the roundabouts he just about had me but on the bypass I just had the upperhand.

So I'd guess your MK2 would be more like the Alfa if you get me, two different cars.

Mine personally handles like sh!t but it needs laser 4 wheel tracking and new shocks.
