I have just got bw 23 confirmed (starting 01.06.2014) and the tracker jumped from step 2 to step 3.
Anyone else got updated?
-
Me too. Tracker updated this morning!
Ordered on 07/04 so looks roughly in-line with the 12 week lead time. What's on order Geo?
-
I've placed the order on 28.03 so a little bit over a month now.
On order is a GTI PP.
-
Nice (as per post signature...sorry!)
Mines a 5dr manual Carbon Grey GTI, with keyless, rear camera and park assist. Cannot wait now!
-
I got the update this morning too for my replacement GTI order! VW are managing the order too and they have assured me these orders should be at the dealers by the end of June without fail
-
I sure hope to get the car by end of June. The dealer said the same thing when I've placed the order that by end of june-start of july I should get it.
The wait seems even longer now, going mental.
-
Text for me too this morning :)
Ordered on 7/2 (!), GTI PP, Red, 5dr, Manual, DCC, rear camera and rear side airbags/warnings.
-
The wait seems even longer now, going mental.
You're telling me, I ordered originally in January, went to pick it up in April and the dealership realised at handover they'd ordered the wrong optional extras spec! So it'll be six months from originally ordering to actually getting my car...
-
Hi, just joined forum - ordered over the Easter bk hol w/e.
5dr GTD, carbon grey, DSG, S&S pack, leather and Santiago's.
Was hoping this would be a 64 plate but if end of June delivery would the dealer keep hold of it.....? I know you'll think I'm nuts but I'm prepared to wait as had resigned myself to a 4-5 month wait when ordered.
-
2 days until it gets into production. Feeling excited now. Can't wait for another month to get it.
-
First post here, but I've been following the forum since January when I ordered my GTi. Build week 23 for me, dealer reckons delivery last week of June, so hopefully not much longer to wait now.
-
Second round of the wonderful build, transit and delivery experience began again today for me. I'm hoping the transit from Emden to Sheerness will be a bit quicker than it was last time back in BW12...
-
Has the tracker updated to Build in progress for any of you?
-
Not yet, although I got a call from VW to confirm my order had in fact transitioned to 'build in progress, checkpoint one' to quote the lady on the phone! The tracker normally updates each morning around 8:30-9am so I think we can expect updates each morning.
-
As far as I know the tracker gets updated once a week. It's thursday and still step 3. My guess is it will jump to in transit as it did for others around here.
-
It's thursday and still step 3.
It's only Wednesday you know.. Overexcited?
-
My bad. It seems so. Can't wait.
-
The tracker updates every morning.
-
Seems that it's updating now, I get that message that my order no. can't be found. Hope it jumps to next stage today
-
Had a call from my dealer this morning, on their VW system it's showing the order has been built and released to exit port (Emden). Three weeks maximum from now.
-
I take it the tracker is still at step 3 for you as well? I haven't received any call from my dealer yet.
-
No tracker update for me! The wait just got a lot harder, knowing the car actually exists now!
-
Just rang the dealer but they couldn't help me today, as the sales manager that put my order through is not in the office sat/sun. So will have to wait for monday to get an accurate update.
-
Yeah my tracker is still on BW confirmed, stage three, but this was info the dealer provided from the internal VW order and transport tracking system they use.
-
Hmmm, mine is on stage 4 at the moment although I've not had any alerts from VW via text or e-mail. This backs up the fact that the tracker lags behind a bit I think, as the dealer's already confirmed it's been made and on it's way to Emden.
-
My tracker has updated to stage 4 as well. Same story, no e-mail or text message notification for this one, even though I have always had notifications for the first 3 steps. I assume mine has been built as well and is on it's way. I will have to speak to the dealer tomorrow.
-
Tracker silently updated for me too. Out of the country for the next two weeks so with a bit of luck, might be waiting for me when I return!
-
And me, "Build in Progress", wasn't like that on Friday :)
-
Lol, wasn't like that today morning. It has updated in the afternoon.
-
I'm now at stage 5 and the dealer's confirmed it's at Emden awaiting a ship
-
Lucky you. Spoken to my dealer yesterday and it seems my car is being built this week, so the tracker was wrong. This would mean actually wk 24, not 23. Expecting delivery early July. Gutted...
-
That's not great Geo. I've found the tracker to be completely useless through the whole process, just got to stage 5 and only had 1 update! At least you'll get a full months tax if picking up early July!
-
Just got updated to step 5 in transit. 3 weeks left now. The notification email and text message on my phone were stating bw confirmed though as they've been for the last 3 updates.
-
I'm onto stage 5c now, with the 10 days remaining. Although the alerts from the tracker are all useless, the tracker itself is accurate according to my dealership. Fingers crossed I might be able to take delivery at the end of next week
-
Sorry for being ignorant, but what do you mean by stage 5c? On my tracker I am only seeing stage 5 and then stage 6. Am I missing something here?
-
Sorry I should explain, there are three steps within stage 5. If VW's tracker was working properly you'd get the detailed messages via text and e-mail, but if your tracker alerts have been anything like mine, they're sporadic and hopeless. I've listed below the stages, the bits in brackets are my explanations of the stages.
3 - build week confirmed
4 - build in progress
5a - in transit: left factory (on a train to Emden port)
5b - in transit: shipping (at Emden port, awaiting a ship or being loaded onto a ship)
5c - in transit: near the UK (on a ship that's underway to Grimsby/Sheerness)
6 - arrived in UK (at Grimsby/Sheerness, transport to dealership being arranged/underway)
7 - car has arrived (delivered to dealership nominated PDI location)
Hope this helps
-
That makes sense now. Cheers mate.
At the moment my tracker is showing this:
Your car is on the next stage of its journey to the UK. On average it takes 3 weeks for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer.
-
Mine's arrived in the UK
-
Mine's arrived in the UK
Was it delivered by helicopter lol
-
Was it delivered by helicopter lol
Hah maybe, dealer claimed it arrived at Sheerness port yesterday but I can't find a boat on marinetraffic that matches this, all a bit strange! Not going to complain though, I originally ordered in January so I've been waiting long enough
-
Tracker update and call from the dealer today to say car arrived in the UK!! Hopefully ready to collect at the end of next week
-
I'm collecting on Friday
-
Nice one mate. It took about 8 days between stage 5 and 6? I got updated to stage5 on the 12th so I should probably get the update around 20th as well.
-
Arrived in the UK. Yuuu-huuuu. 10 days until collection now.
-
Tracker is completely nuts. Is showing stage 6, got the text yesterday, now i've got the stage 5c text again.
-
Step 7 of 7, at the dealers
-
How wicked is that: after two days of showing stage 6 Arrived in the UK, the tracker went back to stage 5 In transit.
-
Dealer called today. Car arriving at dealer tonight and collection monday or tuesday.
-
Should be picking mine up Sunday
-
And finally step 7.
-
Mine is at the dealers  Waiting until the 1st September though to take delivery.
