Title: First Oil Change?

How many miles to the first oil change? VW say 10,000 miles, I think, seems too high to me. I would probably like to do it at say 3,000 miles.

There is no running in oil change period recommended by VW in the UK (or most European countries) - in other markets (China, South America) it's 1500 miles.
