Title: Golf mk4 GTI 1.8T 2001 central locking issues- please help!!
Post by: Whitty1383 on 10 May 2014, 21:56
Hi
This is my first post on here, I'm in need of help with my electrical issues.
So I bought this car and the key fob didn't work, I changed the battery and still no luck. Also the boot wasn't locking or unlocking with my central locking when using the key in the drivers door but all the doors did.
I did my reading here online and as a result checking in the boot, the wiper motor was broken and had been leaking. I replaced the wiper motor, central locking module, locking mechanism and boot latch. Still no luck, the lock sometimes works intermittently.
I noticed my drivers door wasn't activating my interior lights, headlamp buzzer or puddle light. I've since replaced the drivers door latch, the puddle light now works. Also the buzzer and interior lights worked, they now however don't??!
The central locking still does not work the boot...
I've checked all my fuses which are all good. I've checked my CCM and 2 wires on the smaller plug appear to have been cut. When connecting these back up the hazard lights illuminate permanently, not flashing.

Sorry for the long post but I'm getting desperate for the next thing to check and I need help.

Thanks

Whitty, I just scanned through your essay mate. I don't know much in all honesty.

But I had a problem where my battery died before an sent all my Electronics haywire in my previous golf.

But I got told to unplug the battery for 10mins or so, so I did. had no batter on the leads atall.

An then hey presto, the car just got back to normal.

Hope this may help....
