Title: GTI 8v oil leak

Hey guys,

Just recently got a mk3 gti 8v for a little project. £500 bargain, runs really well and body is really straight...

But was just having a quick inspection under the bonnet, and while the engine was running I noticed a oil leak coming out of what seems like a nipple? On the the right hand side of the engine block (as you look at it) and just below the head. For some reason I feel like it a oil pressure release valve of some kind? But I'm probably wrong! Any steer on this would be really useful! Cheers guys
