Title: 18t powered MEV Rocket
Post by: Bechsteindebauchery on 06 May 2014, 23:26
New to the forum so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place.

I'm contemplating building an MEV Rocket but am keen to use the 1.8t engine (as opposed to the Focus zetec it's designed for) due to the power as standard (150bhp) and the fact that a £299 REVO map will give me over 200bhp.

Road Track Race, the manufacturer of the MEV Rocket have told me that the engine and box would physically fit, but they couldn't help me in respect of telling me whether the standard engine management can be used out of the donor car or whether I would have to go down the aftermarket route.

Any advice you guys could give would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

you just need to get the immobiliser defeated in the ecu, unless you were planning on using the donor instrument cluster/keys/barrels too. i dont know if they offer a plug&play option for the focus engine harness to the fuse box and relays, but i doubt that would be compatible with the 20v engine. the qpeng conversion loom used in mk2 golf conversions might make your life simpler but the ecu you get with that is not as straight forward to tune safely compared to the factory bosch ecu.
