Hi all,
Looking for a bit of clutch advice. Over past couple of months i have noticed on occasions my clutch is slipping slightly, But now it is starting do do it a bit more frequent so guessing it needs to be replaced.
Are there different types of clutches for different models ect? Do any fit? reason why i ask is i have a clutch from a petrol golf that had a 6 speed box, and with mine also having a 6 speed box but diesel, was hoping that they would be the same to save me a few quid.
Thanks for any advise...

Clutch from a petrol Golf will melt at the sight of the diesel engine
Only clutches for 6 speeders will fit; check out Euro Car Parts and Oemandmore for clutch kits
Its worth doing the flywheel whilst its all apart too; one lot of labour then

Thanks for that. appreciate it..

I picked up a Sachs clutch, slave cylinder and duel mass flywheel off a shop selling on eBay for £329 then fitted them myself. I didn't think that was a terrible price for Sachs.

yeah I think they had the full kit for £350 with the slave, and then I mistook the ad and ordered the version without slave for £300, but then called them up before they posted it and they added a slave in for an extra £29 :)
