Got annoying  rattle that sounds as though it is the plastic panel inside of tailgate. Does anyone know how to remove this panel, there are 2 torx screws in the recess to pull tailgate down and also 2 more under the pull down flap, it's these 2 I am concerned about. Do they secure anything behind the panel, or are they there just to secure it? Don't want to take them out and anything behind fall off.

Use the car's warranty to get it sorted.
A common rattle on the Scirocco was the bump stops. Check both stick out the same number of notches. If not, stick a small (was it a 1.5mm/2mm?) allen key through the centre of the shorter bump stop, slacken it off and pull the bump stop out until it has the same number of notches as the other side and tighten allen screw again.

My previous experience of dealers & rattles is not good, took my MK6 back 4 times for same rattle and they still couldn't find it, hence I prefer to try myself.

Haven't VW issued an advisory to the dealers regarding a rattle in the boot? Sure I read it on here somewhere
