Driving home tonight and noticed an engine warning light the manual says it's a fault with the catalytic converter, I'm guessing as my car has only done 31k it's not the cat that's gone but prob more likely a sensor?
Is there any connectors anywhere apart from the one that screws into the exhaust that could have come lose that I could check?
Failing that or if I find nothing guess it's off for an expensive diagnosing session at VW

This is the emissions warning light? Had this a couple of times in the MK5 once...left the car overnight and the light didn't return :laugh:.
If you have an OBD scanner then it would help to see what codes are stored.

Doesn't have to be an expensive session at the dealer, buy a Vgate vs450 scanner from ebay or amazon. This will pick up your fault code. Think it costs about £25 tops. Plug it in switch on the ignition and select audi/vw from menu and away you go.

Popped down to a local VW independent garage today, had a VCDS scan done and it's come back with a fault with a manifold positioning sensor, the guy said there is a load of flaps inside in the manifold and the car doesn't know where one of them is so could be a sensor or motor or just a stuck flap.
Anyone else has this problem, is it many £££ to fix

Been doing some more searching looks like it's the p2015 code (should have asked him for it) looks like its gonna cost about £700 to fix, as no warranty guess I'm paying the hole bill :angry:

I had this when it went stage 1, same code and had to replace inlet manifold!

Can I ask how much that cost and the break down of them? At some point in the future when I get some cash (even more saving now) im gonna go for revo stage 1 poss 2 so I guess this problem would have showed its ugly face then

It was replaced under warranty, if it wasn't covered I think vw were saying about £700, but I think an independent would be a lot cheaper!
I think when you start putting a bit more power through the manifold the flap struggles and ends up being stuck, but apparently it's all one piece so you can't just replace the flap you have change it all, don't know how true all this it's just what the dealers said but I'm sure some people on here will no a lot more about this! Try google and you can see that it is quite common and good luck.

Or forgot I think the sensor is at fault aswell but can't be replaced as it's moulded into the plastic.

Had to pop out tonight light was on, came back to the car few hours later and its turned off wooooo guess I can keep my hard earnt pennies for a few more weeks until it decides to show again.
Im probs gonna have to get it fixed at some point as if im going to remap it will prob show itself again then

Yeah it does go on and off but the problem will always be there I'm afraid :sad:

At least it gives me a little bit of time to save the cash to get it done instead of putting it on the credit card
