Not even sure how much id get for it 2002 with 160k on the clock but the inside is like new and the outside is to.
I'm pretty sure you can get a MK5 GTi for around 3k? But not sure if this is worth while TBF. It might not feel like an upgrade!

you will 100% not get a mk5 GTI for 3k try 6k at the bare minimum! Id say yours would be worth around £2.5k just buy mine and be very happy with it :D

No chance im looking to spent that on a mk4 R32

Looks like i'll be keeping my car then haha

Capability wise the MK5 is superior to the MK4 in almost every way.
Faster, more refined, better to drive.
By far the biggest improvement is handling out of the box.
Plus I like floor mounted accelerator pedals.

This. Interior quality is a let down though. And they rust........check for corrosion on the front wings

A Mk5 for 3K you sniffing glue? if there was it would be a f**king raft!!! Performance and handling wise there an upgrade personally inside they look awful and its not the prettiest golf IMO as other have said 6K to 8K seems to be the average and if was buying 1 it would be the Edition 30

I travel 250 miles a week for work, R32 is out the question lol. Spending £45 a week now don't want to be spending any more!
