Title: gear sticks very stiff

Picked up a 16v the other day,  the gear stick seems to be very stiff. In the sense it's fairly difficult to move it either side and it doesn't seem to return to a central position on its own. Goes in and out of gear fine however

Possible causes and cures for this ? Thanks in advance

I would advise new bushes all round and a rebuild of all the mechs.
Yours is an 02a box as fitted to the VR so I would get a reconditioned shifter mech from Besters on the VR6oc, Best investment for any 02a

Thankyou for th reply mate I will look into the reconditioned shifter. Where's the best place to order the bushes from ?
