Anyone running these? I've only done about 2000 miles and they are down to 5mm already, bearing in mind I'm an old man and drive like one  this is shocking. They are pretty even right across the tread so there doesn't ssem to be any alignment issues, unless the wifes been ragging it  My winter contacts have done about 4000 miles and look brand new.

I've got conti sport contact 5s. I got 13k miles out of my fronts before replacing them couple of months ago and still had about 3mm tread left. Have switched rears to front and plenty of tread left on them.
If you're down to 5mm after only 2k it's worth getting your alignment checked, even though they appear to be wearing evenly. I get mine cheked once a year.
I rate them highly as they have performed faultlessly for the last 20 months.

I've got them on my Passat, albeit 235-45-17's and with Conti-Seal. I'm not sure how many miles the first set did as I didn't buy the car new, but I did over 12,000 miles before fitting my winter tyres. I've got a new set on now and they have done over 2,000 miles without so much as a mark.

Wow that is bad! I've got a relatively new set of Goodyear eagle f1's all round. They are by far the most popular tyres on this forum

I love the F1's.
Mine came with CSPC5's and they are a very good tyre, lots of lateral grip and in the M25 downpour on Monday night got me home fast, safe and sound.
I had winters on until the beginning of March but i reckon the conti's have done about 8k and are on 5mm front 6mm rear.
Mine are 19's. I don't really like the car on 19's so if anyone wants to swap their ed35 18" wheels for my Glendale's let me know.

Getting the alignment checked is a fair enough idea but would you not expect the winters to show similar wear if it was an issue, I know there different compounds but still?

Possibly, but alignment can go out at any time, it only takes one bad pothole. So it's feasible it could have been ok during winter and only changed more recently. For the sake of the £80 or so it costs for 4 wheel laser alignment, I think it's worth doing, if only to rule it out.
There's been a couple of threads on mk7 section about tyre wear and most with experience of conti 5s also report getting approx 12/13k miles, so something isn't right with yours.

Yeah you're right but the 5's did the 2000miles before the winters did the 4000miles if that makes sense. It's only when I put them back on I noticed it

I see. Are you running correct tyre pressure, if not this could be a factor. Why not check tread wear again after another 2k and see how they are faring, you may find they don't wear at the same rate, as there are various factors at play.
