There are threads here that clearly show the Radar Sensor in the centre of the lower grill. I'm a bit confused as there are MK7 GTIs on Youtube where the radiator can be clearly seen behind the lower grill and there is no radar housing. Have VW moved it? :huh:

No they haven't changed it. The early dealer demo and launch models which came across summer last year were without the adaptive cruise control. Actual customer specced cars always have them as standard.
So what you have probably seen is an ex dealer demonstrator from the initial batch.

Also I don't think all markets get ACC as standard do they?

There also seems to be two types of radar. Have seen a couple of golfs with what looks like a big glass bulb instead of the smooth flat one that is on my GTD.

Early SE and GT's etc had the dome shaped ones which VW changed to the square one after about 6 months i think.

I think it's only standard in the UK. It's not available(even as an option) in South Africa
