Title: 8v rear axle brake pipe + Banjo
Post by: lukeC on 24 April 2014, 17:25
Hi All,

I have been renewing all the brakes etc on the golf. I noticed that the rear axle flexi hose was shot so i bought a new one, and the bloody thing will not budge for love of the money. (WD40 - Blowlamp etc) my only other option is to cut the brake pipes off and fit new ones. However i cant seem to find any at all. I only require the x2 bits of pipe running to the rear axle and from the rear axle to the other flexi hose near to the drivers side brake disc.

can any one help me find some to buy already made? or failing that someone help me find the size pipe i need and the banjo bolts etc?

cheers.

Luke

M10x1 unions and 3/16" brake pipe, you can get both from pretty much any motor factor/Halfords etc.
You will also need a small pipe bender (cheap is fine) and a pipe flaring tool, I would suggest you invest a bit more money in the flaring tool and you will get a better result.

This is similar to the one I have and works great: (http://www.jhmbuttco.com/acatalog/ak5063.jpg)
